MINISTER ASAMO WARNS FAKE SIGN LANGUAGE INTERPRETERS

The state minister for disabilities Hellen Grace Asamo has warned people who masquerade to be sign language interpreters that the law will deal with them and advised them that the government has set up departments at Kyambogo University teaching sign language interpretation to go and have certified papers.
Minister adds that deaf people also have rights to benefit in all government programs like any other and appealed to public to avoid discriminating them.
The minister addressed this at Uganda media center as Uganda marks 50years since the Uganda’s deaf community was introduced.
