VCT Solenoid Ford 2.0 Duratec Ti-VCT HE - Removal and Installation

In this video I go over the process of replacing the VCT solenoids on the Ford 2.0 Duratec HE engine. The process is very simple once the valve cover is removed. Simply unbolt either of the solenoids and remove the solenoid. Installation is reverse process.Show more

The Ford Duratec 2.0 Ti-VCT HE engine has been used by Ford on many of their models. The 2012-2018 Ford Focus being just one of them. This information will apply to a wide range of vehicles equipped with this particular engine. (There may be some differences between the models so please do verify videos application to whatever you are working on.)

Note: Use care not to over torque the VCT solenoid hold down bolt if using an impact to run down the bolt. The impact at this point is only used to just run the bolt down, not tighten it. If you cannot do this then it is recommended to not use any sort of power tool to run this bolt down.
