The Saado al-Saltan caravanserai in Qazvin was inscribed on the UNESCO cultural heritage list.

The UN cultural body on Sunday added many of Iran's caravanserais (roadside hotels for travelers along the country's ancient trade routes) to its World Heritage List.

🇮🇷Iran boasts more than 200 caravanserais along the historical trade routes that cross the country, connecting Asia and Europe, including the Silk Road routes.
Among them are the caravanserais Qasr-e-Bahram near the city of Semnan, Deir-e-Gachin near the city of Qom and Anjir-e Sangi near the city of Yazd.

Iran currently has 27 UNESCO-listed historical sites, including the ancient city of Persepolis, capital of the ancient Persian Empire of the Achaemenid dynasty, Armenian monasteries in the northwest of the country and the historic city of Yazd.
