The 3 Most Powerful Nuclear Bomb
Tsar Bomba (RDS-220): This Soviet hydrogen bomb, tested on October 30, 1961, over the Novaya Zemlya archipelago in the Arctic Ocean, is the most powerful nuclear device ever detonated. It had a yield of approximately 50 megatons of TNT, which is about 3,333 times more powerful than the bomb that was dropped on Hiroshima during World War II.
Ivan Bomba (RDS-202): Another Soviet hydrogen bomb, the Ivan Bomba, was tested on November 22, 1961, also over the Novaya Zemlya archipelago. It had a yield of approximately 24 megatons, making it the second most powerful nuclear bomb ever detonated.
Castle Bravo (15 megatons): This was the code name for the United States' largest-ever nuclear test. It was detonated on March 1, 1954, at Bikini Atoll in the Pacific Ocean. The yield of the Castle Bravo test was approximately 15 megatons, making it one of the most powerful nuclear explosions conducted by the United States.
