NOTE ON THE 9-17-23 CLASS
The 9-17-23 class is paired with the 9-10-23 class and depends on that class. If you have not watched the 9-10-23 class, watch that one first and then come back to this one. These were two of the best classes so far, so if this is your first look at my classes, these two will give you a sense of whether these classes will be appealing to you.

CORRECTIONS TO MY STATEMENTS AT THE 9-17-23 CLASS
>> From 1:29 to 2:47 Doug and I were discussing whether Jesus was executed for blasphemy or for heresy. I'm sure I can speak for Doug when I say we both know he was executed by Pilate and not by the Sanhedrin, which means that speaking literally he was not executed either for heresy or for blasphemy but because the Sanhedrin put Pilate in a position where he had no other choice. We were using verbal shorthand to refer to the motivations of the Sanhedrin in order to avoid the necessity of making very long sentences to explain the exact nuance of how it happened. In fact what the Sanhedrin actually did was to bear false witness to the civil authority that had the responsibility to prevent uprisings and the power to execute Jesus.
