Back Alley Mages - Gameplay 1

To be Fair: this was a rare, "put all the games on the table, & we'll pick 1 to play." That is to say, that we didn't prepare to play this or take notes on it before attempting to play. Some games are a bit more complicated than those in which you can easily open the box, go through the rules 1 time, & competently play.

I'm sure Back Alley Mages is great when you have a greater understanding of the card types, mechanisms, & phases. Unfortunately we went in, close to in the dark.
