9/17/2023 A university in Xi'an faced student protests due to alleged maltreatment of students. An online video shows that Xi'an Vocational University of Information saw numerous students protesting in the dorms. The students demanded refunds and cursed the university president. It is said that the school allegedly charged exorbitant dormitory fees, forced students to stay on campus, and prohibited them from leaving the campus or ordering takeout. To save on electricity, the school even cut power during the day, and there was even no mobile phone signal within the campus.
