After the surprise announcement from Airfix on the Black Buck raid version of the Vulcan along with the commemorative coin, the internet was quickly ablaze with a bit of controversy....it seemed Airfix had made a school-boy error and depicted the ECM pod as hanging from a pod the size of a Vulcan landing gear bay door....replicating a common misconception of a now infamous photo.

Today we discuss how such an easily-checked error could have slipped through given all we know of Airfix's recent depth of research, and speculate on what Airfix are going to do to scrape the egg of their faces,....
