Russian scouts from the Dnepr group of troops used improved loitering ammunition to hit a Ukrainian MiG-29 fighter jet at the Dolgintsevo airfield in Krivoy Rog, 90km from the front line.

Loitering ammunition, also known as suicide drones, are unmanned aerial vehicles that can circle an area for an extended period of time before striking their target. They are often used for surveillance and reconnaissance, but can also be armed with explosives.

The use of improved loitering ammunition by Russian forces could pose a significant challenge to the Ukrainian Air Force, as it allows them to target Ukrainian aircraft from a distance, even at airfields deep inside Ukrainian territory.
