Best of the Algarve, Portugal 🇵🇹 Trying Pastel de Nata | Ferragudo, Alvor & Flamingoes

After breakfast in our beautiful apartment in Carvoeiro we jumped in our rental car and made our way to beautiful Ferragudo. We stopped by a little shop and bought some little bits before heading on to a cafe with really friendly staff where we got two coffees and a Pastel de Nata each. These are particularly well-known Portuguese cakes and they were delicious. The coffees and the cakes cost us €4 total!

We checked out the water front and got some great drone shots of Ferragudo. We also sat to watch the world go by, spotting the cormorants, watching freshly-caught fish get grilled and seeing a cat stalk some gulls.

We drove on to Alvor, another nice Portuguese town (that was recommended to us by a lady in Birmingham International Airport) where we had a delicious lunch with some small plates (breads, codfish terrine, octopus salad) and a wonderful tuna dish.

From here we went onto A Rocha Delicada in the hope of seeing some of the wild birds that stop there - including ospreys, oystercatchers, egrets, herons and flamingoes. I was particularly hoping to see some flamingoes and we were lucky enough to spot a whole flamboyance! The sunset was incredible and we were treated to some pink skies.
