"The Mysterious Whims of Whales: Unveiling the Unexpected Choices of the Ocean Giants"

Our captain saw these two playing in the algae while we were in the water. He told us to swim over. As we did the whales greeted us with this hello through the weeds. And after swimming around us once more they both swam off to find weed that they hadn’t stirred up and continued to play in it. We quietly swam back to the boat speechless.

Again we don’t know why they like playing in the weed, but I’m not sure there’s any biological significance to it aside from the physiological benefits obtained through play and joy.
