US auto workers threaten to ‘amp up’ historic strike

Among the trio, Stellantis extended an offer to its employees, describing it as a “highly competitive” wage hike of 21 percent spread over four years.

However, UAW President Shawn Fain unequivocally rejected this proposal, deeming it unacceptable.

Fain conveyed on the CBS News talk show “Face the Nation,” “If we don’t get better offers and… take care of the members’ needs, we’re going to amp this up even more,”

He emphasized that General Motors, Ford, and Stellantis bear “no excuse” for failing to resolve the wage disputes, considering their substantial profits in recent years, France24 reported.
