Hello Im Skill Incarnate and Welcome to My Games Review Series.
My reviews cover indie games that i have bought, had gifted to me and have been provided by developers for review.

In this episode I dust off my controllers to try out Gourmet Warriors on the PlayStation. This game was developed and published by QUbytes, an indie developer and publisher, who have released several ports and remakes of classic titles, many of which ive previously reviewed.
Gourmet Warriors is a port of the Japanese Beatemup Gourmet Sentai Barayaro which was released on the Japanese Famicom back in 1995,
which means for many this is the only way to experience the game.

Gourmet Warriors is a classic SNES era beatemup taking inspiration from Japanese Anime and Super Sentai TV shows like Power Rangers. It allows one or two players to choose one of three fighters and battle their way accross the Futuristic Zeus City, fighting a wacky range of enemies such as Cyborg Punks, Jetpack wielding strongmen and bunny girls in Mecha Suits. True to its Japanese roots, the game boasts a solid challenge with
a plethora of special moves to master and secret characters to find.

While the game is a little short and does lack some of the features of other ports, this is still a very solid fighting game and an important piece of gaming history. I recommend it for fighting game enthusiasts or fans of obscure gaming titles.

Gourmet Warriors is a surrealistic side-scrolling beat'em-up originally released in 1995.

The year is 20XX, World War III has occurred and decimated the planet. Recovering from nuclear war has not been easy, as the citizens of Zeus Heaven Magic City, one of the few surviving metropolitan centers, will tell you. Zeus is a world unto itself, a world of power and technology. A world with precious little food supplies. It is imperative to ingest proteins in whatever food you can find on your journey.

Bath, a secret organization bent on causing strife and violence, is growing their power every day, slowly taking over more and more of the city - including food supplies.

Save the city of Zeus Heaving Magic from the attempt of demonic mutant robots to take over! And eat some tasty gourmet recipes while you're at it!
