In August of 1945, just a couple years before the polio epidemic hits peak cases and death rates, the US government had a program in Rockford, IL where they filled planes up with 500 gal of DDT emulsions and sprayed it over the country indiscriminately... This was one of many programs all over that began in the early 1940s. By the end of these programs, they sprayed 1.3 billion pounds of DDT.. That's the equivalent in weight of 2 empire state buildings of pure DDT, sprayed all over the country.... Do you understand how absolutely insane that is?
