This is a video of our visit to the beautiful 14th cen. Byzantine Church of St. Nicholas Orphanos in Thessaloniki, Greece. This church is a UNESCO World Heritage site and important for Christian history in Thessaloniki. The holes in the walls were due to the Ottomans covering the icons in plaster, and by filling the holes the plaster was able to stick better. It is currently being restored.
