One of the most enigmatic pharaohs of ancient Egypt is the so-called "heretic king," Akhenaten, who ruled over Egypt in the 18th dynasty during the New Kingdom. In this episode, David and Natalie explore the ruins of this king's capital city, Akhetaten, the "Horizon of Aten," located in central Egypt in Amarna. They will show you everything from the royal tomb to the tombs of the nobles to the Small Aten Temple.
