When you are feeling overwhelmed, stressed, or tired, it can be difficult to get motivated at work and in other parts of your life. But there is research that can help and I’m excited to share it with you in this video, along with 3 super practical tips to help you get motivated to work towards your goals, complete a project, or stick to a habit.

I encourage you to try these practices on your own and if you’re part of a team, with your colleagues at work.

Here are the tips I share with you in this video:

Tip #1: Use the science of fresh starts to help you get motivated at work. Pick your Fresh Start day and mark it on your calendar (give it a name to make it feel special – your brain loves these kinds of temporal landmarks).

Tip #2: Make sure your goal is meaningful (research shows you’ll be more motivated to achieve a goal if it’s meaningful to you.)

Tip #3: Be self-compassionate (don’t set yourself up to fail by expecting perfection in yourself – research shows that when you approach yourself with compassion, you’re more likely to stay motivated and improve).

Bonus Tip #4: Create a check-in reminder so you can check in on your progress in a few weeks (you can be your own accountability coach by doing this regularly.
