Tide "Come Clean" 1985 TV Commercial #80scommercials

This tide commercial tells a whole story. The guy went "fishing" and comes back with a giant blood, I mean """ketchup""" stain on the back of his shirt and his dutiful wife cleans up the evidence. I mean does the laundry. Who's blood was on his shirt? Was he an enforcer for some shadowy organization?
This should have been the start of a whole Tide cinematic universe where there are increasingly ridiculous reasons for his shirt to be covered in blood. Like "I feel and tripped over a red snow cone cart" or "I feel into a vat of spaghetti sauce." Real missed opportunity there Tide marketing team of 1985.

This delicious 80's commercial was recorded on March 31, 1985 during the broadcast premiere of the miniseries A.D.
