For generations, Somalis have told the scary story of Dhegdeer in different versions.

Dhegdeer is a cannibal who lives with her daughter Caraso in the Hargega Valley. She hunts for lost people and livestock who wander into her valley.
Ayaan and her son, Asaad, find themselves lost in Dhegdeer's valley. Her daughter helps the mother and child escape from Dhegdeer's trap.
