September 17, 2023, Daniel 6, "An Uncompromising Faith" (Full)

Daniel 6:1-3, Daniel was known as a trustworthy man with a servant's heart and with an excellent spirit in him, and therefore he was chosen by king Darius (Darius is Cyrus) to govern over a large domain
Daniel 6:4, Daniel was a man of integrity, whose jealous peers could not find fault in

Proverbs 10:9, he who walks with integrity will be secure
Proverbs 11:3, he who walks with integrity is well guided
Proverbs 19:1, better is integrity than worldly speech
Proverbs 20:7, his children are blessed
Proverbs 28:6, better is integrity than worldly riches

Daniel 6:5-7, a conspiracy set up against Daniel by his peers, to declare his faith in God a crime before king Darius, to have Daniel thrown into the lion's den
Daniel 6:8-9, king Darius caved into the "legislative" pressure and signed into law: preventing people from petitioning God first rather than the king

Daniel 6:10-11, Daniel is caught praying to God and facing Jerusalem
1 King 8:44-45, prayer facing Jerusalem, where the temple was built in Solomon's days, which was part of Solomon's prayer; this was all before Pentecost, and before Jesus split the temple veil (and became accessible to all mankind); in the modern church era, people interface with Jesus through the Holy Spirit

Daniel 6:16, Daniel cast into the lion's den, but Darius told Daniel that the God of Israel (whom Daniel believed in) would still save Daniel. For it was easier for the king to just speak, as he (Darius) did not want to or dare to save Daniel himself, even though he still preferred Daniel as a good governor.
Daniel 6:17, Darius seals the den anyways as he agreed with his princes, governors, counselors, and captains in verses 7-9

Daniel 6:18-20, king Darius had problems sleeping soundly that night and came to check on Daniel in the morning
Daniel 6:22, God protects Daniel from the lions
Daniel 6:22, God sent "his angel": probably refers to the incarnate Christ instead, similar to the 4th person in the furnace in Daniel 3
Daniel 6:22, technically Jesus is the Lion of Judah himself, so if there were 4 lions in the den, Christ would be the 5th
Revelation 1:8, opens the book of Revelation with "Alpha and Omega". The first and last letter in the New Testament Greek alphabet: the Alpha and the Omega- Christ has, is, and will come
Revelation 22:13, closes the book of Revelation again with Alpha and Omega
Mark 10:27, Daniel 6:26-28, nothing is impossible for God (except He cannot sin), who is the Alpha and the Omega, and therefore protecting Daniel was not an impossible task

Luke 14:26-27, how do we ordinary people compare to Daniel? Is our love for God first and foremost (does NOT talk about hating other people in the literal English context)?

James 4:7, submitting to God will surely make evil flee (note: believers do not challenge evil to let it exercise, rather believers walk with integrity through God)
Ephesians 6:11-13, the spiritual battle of every believer, which is not a war against physical fleshly enemies, but against evil spiritual powers in places of great influence (notice the word of God is referred to as a sword in verse 17)

Acts 4:15-18, Peter and John caught preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the people
Acts 4:19-20, Peter and John plainly tell the government that they were simply obeying God

2 Timothy 3:16-17, all of God's word (wisdom) is given for a good reason
Hebrews 5:13-14, the Spirit is given to discern good and evil, but the believer requires exercise to become mature in faith
Proverbs 4:5-9, didactic form (refers to wisdom as poetic "she"); the wisdom here is applied knowledge (requires exercise in understanding and experience) empowered by the spirit of discernment, to discern between good and evil and discern between real and counterfeit

Daniel 6:28, just another normal day for Daniel and his faith in God
1 Corinthians 10:31, everything done for the glory of God
Joshua 24:15-24, the God who saves
