A Decade of Sun is a 61-minute time-lapse video of the Sun, created using images captured by the Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) between 2010 and 2020. The video shows the rise and fall of the Sun's 11-year solar cycle, as well as notable events such as transiting planets and solar eruptions.
SDO is a space-based telescope that continuously monitors the Sun in 10 different wavelengths of light. This allows scientists to study the Sun's atmosphere, magnetic field, and activity in unprecedented detail. The data from SDO has revolutionized our understanding of the Sun and its impact on the solar system.
