The War in Ukraine Must Be Solved Mutilaterally | Former OSCE Secretary General Thomas Greminger

🌟Ambassador Thomas Greminger is a Swiss Diplomat and currently the Director of the Geneva Center for Security Policy.

Before moving to academia, Ambassador Greminger served for 3 years as the Secretary-General of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE).

Ambassador Greminger’s diplomatic career focused on conflict resolution and human rights: He served as Head of the Human Security Division of Switzerland’s Federal Department of Foreign Affairs from 2004 to 2010, after which he became Switzerland’s Permanent Representative to the OSCE in Vienna from 2010 to 2015.

In 2017 he then became the organization’s Secretary-General, where he acted as an effective crisis manager in an increasingly polarized environment. Ambassador Greminger was responsible for promoting dialogue among the 57 OSCE participating States. Among other issues he also helped the OSCE maintain field presences and supported participating States in implementing OSCE commitments and preventing or managing conflicts – notably the Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine.
