Suspect Rams 5 Police Cars and LAPD Cops Unload all Their Weapons at Him.

On August 9, 2023, at around 6:25 pm in the Northeast division of Los Angeles, an officer-involved shooting occurred. The incident began with reports of a series of traffic collisions involving a white Department of Water and Power (DWP) SUV. The driver, identified as Manuel Ramirez, led officers on a pursuit, during which he committed multiple traffic violations.

Ramirez ultimately drove into a business parking lot, collided with police vehicles, and intentionally struck officers before colliding with an occupied van. This led to the first officer-involved shooting. After a brief pause, Ramirez again accelerated toward officers, resulting in a second shooting. Following the incident, SWAT officers successfully apprehended Ramirez.

He was transported to a hospital for treatment of injuries sustained during the incident, including gunshot wounds. Ramirez, a 28-year-old resident of Los Angeles, was subsequently arrested and charged with eight counts of assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer.

It was discovered that the DWP vehicle Ramirez drove had been stolen. Earlier in the day, he had encounters with law enforcement for driving with a suspended license, trespassing, and a traffic violation.
