I have mostly heard from the alternate energy community that the Tesla switch kills batteries. The reason for this is mostly because you should not charge and discharge batteries rapidly.

Most people are pulsing their batteries 100s of times per second with high speed swapping of the battery sets.

I am taking a different approach though which I have never seen done before. I am using the batteries until they reach a certain voltage and then swapping them around. I am using the potential difference between the two battery sets to run the load.
