Limping Lion At Sunrise | Lalashe Maasai Mara Safari

Sala's male lion Orkitok getting active as sunrise and following his brother Osapuk. Orkitok's limp was very exaggerated on this particular morning, maybe because he had been sitting for some time and it was a cold morning. You can see him starting to put weight on the sore leg at the end of the video. Some days the limp is hardly noticeable, especially if he has been moving for some time. The initial injury to the leg was first noticed in early 2022 and it has been checked by vets, it is not something that can be fixed in the wild and repeated invasive darting procedures to give the lion steroids are not a realistic option - especially as he can walk quite well once the joint has loosened up with a bit of activity.
