John Kiriakou is a former CIA spy and the whistleblower of the US torture program. John spent 14 years in the CIA as a specialist in counterterrorism pulling off dangerous missions. After 9/11 he was named Chief of Counterterrorist Operations in Pakistan. He led a series of military raids on al-Qaeda safe houses, capturing dozens of al-Qaeda fighters Including capturing Abu Zubaydah who was thought to be the third highest ranking official in Al Qaeda at the time. John personally guarded his Zubaydah's bedside after his capture…. Later, John retired from the CIA, and during a 2007 interview with ABC news he exposed the the fact that Abu Zubaydah had been tortured. He was then vilified and sent to prison for 2 years. Because he’s a convicted felon he can’t access his pension unless he receives a presidential pardon. He tried to get one from Trump but Rudy Giuliani told him he’d have to pay $2 million dollars in order to get it. He’s now petitioning Joe Biden for a pardon and hopes to get it, we hope he does too.
