Eric Clapton proves he’s the greatest living guitar talent in Toronto concert

Eric Clapton brought a bit of Toronto to Toronto Sunday night at the Scotiabank Arena.

In the wake of the passing of Robbie Robertson just a little over a month ago, Clapton surprised Robertson’s hometown audience and honoured his memory by performing not one, but two Band songs to kick off his first city appearance in 13 years.

The 78-year-old British rock and blues guitar virtuoso greeted the crowd with the Band’s “The Shape I’m In,” which featured a few of his liquid lightning solos, and followed it up with “Northern Lights-Southern Cross” album pick “It Makes No Difference.”
