On April 11, 2023, in Marshfield, Wisconsin, an officer in an unmarked squad car noticed a vehicle with a significant crack in the front windshield. Reacting to this observation, the officer promptly turned around and initiated a traffic stop. The vehicle initially seemed poised to pull over in response to the traffic stop but suddenly accelerated and sped away at a high velocity.
The vehicle soon stopped and one occupant fled on foot. The others complied with officers. Officers and a K-9 unit in the vicinity began actively searching for the male who had fled from the vehicle. The male that fled was located shortly after thanks to multiple citizens who helped officers and the K-9 find him.
The officer with the K-9 then took the K-9 to the vehicle to do a sniff test. The K-9 alerted to the odor of a controlled substance.
The driver, Tiffani, was charged with vehicle operator fleeing or eluding an officer, possession of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia, and six counts of felony bail jumping. Just over a month later, Tiffani was charged with a litany of other crimes including as a party to a crime for armed robbery.
The front passenger, Devin, was charged with possession of meth, possession of THC, possession of drug paraphernalia and obstructing an officer. Devin has also been charged with additional crimes since this incident including OWI and 1st degree recklessly endangering safety. It does not appear that the rear passenger was given any charges.
