yes, I know it sounds strange, but hear me out...

Having lived abroad for quite a while, I'd say there's an unfortunate mentality that I often see. More than often, coming from a place with the best of intentions. Sadly, I see many people moving to another country and deciding that they want to try and change it. Just like tea, when we move to a new country, it's important to first immerse ourselves in the local culture and understand it before trying to change it. Jumping in too quickly without understanding can lead to a 'bitter taste' in our interactions with others. Let's be like tea and take the time to steep in our surroundings to bring out our full potential as productive members of society
