Director James Wan, Aquaman himself (Jason Momoa), Patrick Wilson, Amber Heard, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and Nicole Kidman are returning for the sequel to "Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom," the highest-grossing DC film ever.
Black Manta, determined to avenge his father's death after failing to defeat Aquaman before, now possesses the powerful Black Trident. To stop him, Aquaman seeks help from his imprisoned brother Orm, the former King of Atlantis. They must unite to save their kingdom, Aquaman's family, and the world from impending destruction.
Jason Momoa plays Arthur Curry/Aquaman, who juggles his role as Atlantis' king and a new father. Patrick Wilson portrays Orm, Aquaman's half-brother turned reluctant ally. Amber Heard is Mera, Atlantis' queen and a mother. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II plays Black Manta, more determined than ever to destroy Aquaman and Atlantis. Nicole Kidman is Atlanna, a strong leader and warrior mother. Other returning actors include Dolph Lundgren as King Nereus and Randall Park as Dr. Stephen Shin.
Directed by Wan, the film is produced by Peter Safran, Wan, and Rob Cowan, with executive producers Galen Vaisman and Walter Hamada. The screenplay is by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick, from a story by James Wan, David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick, Jason Momoa, and Thomas Pa’a Sibbett, based on DC characters created by Paul Norris and Mort Weisinger.
The film's creative team includes director of photography Don Burgess, production designer Bill Brzeski, editor Kirk Morri, composer Rupert Gregson-Williams, music supervisor Michelle Silverman, visual effects supervisor Nick Davis, and costume designer Richard Sale.
"Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom" is set to open in Indian cinemas on December 21, 2023, and will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures.
