They get competitive with their daughters and they see their daughters as a threat to their connection with the man who helped father the daughter who now has a relationship with the father than is completely independent of hers and in fact goes deeper because it’s biological. And so her relationship with the father may even have ended by now. We don’t know. But she has found a solution to the daughter’s threat to her womanhood, to Snow White’s gradual overtake of the fairest of them all. Of the queen. And that solution is to make the daughter a boy and to change the daughter’s appearance so now the daughter and the father are in competition for her affections. It’s very twisted.
