Ministry of Energy and mineral development has launched the energy policy 2023.
The legislation that stands to address the challenges of high transmission costs, low levels of access to affordable and modern energy among others.
The energy sector seeks to achieve the 2040 target of being able to capacitate 52.000 Megawatts of power transmitted from the national grid to the rest of the country.
It is from this background that some of the energy policy’s objectives are to strengthen electricity generation, transmission, distribution and increase electricity access.
