POLICE SUSPENDS NUP MOBILIZATION RALLIES

Uganda police has suspended the National Unity Platform mobilization campaigns with immediate effect over breach of guiding laws for the public gatherings.
Fred Enanga the police spokesperson while presenting statement on behalf of the Deputy Inspector General of Police Maj. Gen. Geoffrey Tumussime Katsigazi says the persistent undermining of public order management laws on gathering by NUP leadership is likely to cause unrest in the country.
Police have pointed on the blatant breach of guidelines on gatherings to suspend the National Unity Platform mobilization campaigns across the country
In the statement by the deputy Inspector General of Police Maj. Gen. Geoffrey Tumusiime Kastsigazi presented by the police spokesperson Fred Enanga, NUP was prohibited to conduct processions, unregulated rallies and other acts which incite violence.
