It’s now official. Cardston is no longer a dry town.

Council voted 5-2 on Tuesday passing a bylaw that alcohol can now be sold at restaurants and golf courses.

The opening of liquor stores is still prohibited in the town. Cardston has been booze free since 1902.

Mayor Maggie Kronen reacted to the news.

Back in 2014, two-thirds of council voted against allowing the sale of alcohol in the town.
