California law backfires. Flavored tobacco ban fails. Prohibition does not work.

California voters and politicians were pleased with the public vote that banned flavored tobacco. After all, this was to save the children! Turns out the entire plan backfired. Tobacco use barely changed and people simply bought on the black market, out of state, or south of the border. This resulted in a $300M loss in revenue to the State of California. Flavored vaping products should be legal as a means to wean people off of much more harmful cigarettes.
