The clashes in the Ukraine-Russia war continue to intensify every day. In a statement, the Russian Defense Ministry claimed that Russian forces destroyed the Turkish-made T-122 Sakarya multiple launch rocket system in Ukraine.
"In the last 24 hours, a T-122 Sakarya MLRS combat vehicle manufactured in Turkey was destroyed in the direction of Kupyansk," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.
The Russian state news agency reported that the T-122 Sakarya multiple launch rocket system represents an adaptation of Turkey's BM-21 Grad multiple launch rocket system. This combat vehicle is equipped with a satellite navigation system that allows it to launch long-range rockets reaching distances of up to 40 km. In November 2022, Turkey sent to Ukraine a battery equipped with four launcher packages of this MLRS. In addition, the Russian Defense ministry said the following: "In the last 24 hours, about 25 Ukrainian military personnel, three vehicles, two US-made M777 artillery systems were destroyed in this Kupyansk direction, a French-made TRF1 and D-20 howitzers, the Gvozdika self-propelled artillery mount and a T-122 Sakarya ÇNRA combat vehicle manufactured in Turkey were also destroyed in this direction."
In addition, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry stated in its latest report that Rocket Forces and Artillery units and UAVs destroyed 12 Russian artillery systems, a group of personnel, weapons and military equipment, a command post and an ammunition storage point.
