Community Hearing on Scottsdale’s Taxpayer-Funded Homeless Hotel Plan
House Appropriations Subcommittee on Budgetary Funding Formulas Chairman Matt Gress will hold a community hearing in Scottsdale Wednesday afternoon to examine the City’s plan to utilize housing contracts to convert hotel rooms for use as an emergency homeless shelter. It will be held at the Scottsdale Civic Center Library Auditorium (3839 N. Drinkwater Blvd., Scottsdale, AZ 85251) on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:45 p.m.

The hearing is open to the media and public.
Witnesses testifying include:
David Ortega, Mayor, City of Scottsdale, Arizona
Jared Meyer, Senior Advisor at the Cicero Institute
Erica Sandberg, Journalist/Author
Lisa Chastain, CEO, Gospel Rescue Mission in Tucson
An invitation to testify has been extended to the Arizona Department of Housing
