Othal Wallace is currently on trial for the 2021 deadly shooting of a Daytona Beach Police Officer Jason Raynor. On June 23, 2021, investigators said Wallace, then 29, shot Raynor in the head. He later died of his injuries. Wallace is facing a first-degree murder charge in Raynor's death. State attorneys have said they intend to seek the death penalty.
