The two-week-long search for an escaped convicted murderer from a Pennsylvania prison concluded on Wednesday with the capture of Danelo Cavalcante, according to officials.

Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro and Pennsylvania State Police Lt. Col. George Bivens confirmed his capture during a press conference.

Cavalcante was apprehended shortly after 8 a.m. by a tactical team leading the manhunt, and no gunfire was exchanged.

Cavalcante was found in a wooded area within the law enforcement perimeter, as disclosed by a law enforcement source to CBS News senior investigative producer Pat Milton early Wednesday. His arrest transpired without any incidents.

Footage from CBS Philadelphia’s helicopter depicted a group of officers dressed in camouflage escorting Cavalcante, who appeared to be wearing a Philadelphia Eagles sweatshirt, CBS News reported.
