“Break the rules only if you have mastered them”
If you’re new here, I can only train arms and legs (and in a modified capacity) due to injury.
“But Matt, this split is not OPTIMAL!? Training arms 2 days in a row!?!?!?! That’s not how it works” I’m telling you…following all this optimal shit is a great place to start for the first couple years. But if you really want to break through your post-newbie gains plateau then you gotta be willing to break the rules and try some different shit. Stay stuck in zero gainsville because you’re afraid to break the dam rules. Who made the rules in the first place, some gang of tiktok sciencers who’s main priority is to be condescending and show you their smart to feel better about themselves? The science is good, I’ve dove deep into it and my main takeaway is that it aint law. There is always some caveat or something off when you really look into all the details, it isn’t as black and white as ppl make it seem. Point being, if you really wanna grow and push your limits to the max, you gotta let go of this ‘optimal’ mentality and be willing to try some crazy shit that sounds like it shouldn’t work. And trust me, lots of it doesn’t, but occasionally you find a nugget and boom your gains level up. How bad do you want it? Bad enough to venture out on your own taking ownership and start experimenting with your training? Or stay comfy inside the confines of optimal training doomed to look exactly the same as you did a year ago. I’ve seen positive results from upping my frequency - hitting the muscle more often. I progressively removed rest days over time and my body consistently responded with more growth. That’s PROOF of effectiveness, I don’t need it to be published in a dam study. Ultimately, I will listen to my body and let it tell me what works and what doesn’t. This is a far more useful tool to guide your pursuit of the gains than hyperfocusing on science and optimal training. All you need is within you already, your body can teach you far more - start experimenting and start listening…but…do you really want it that bad? #HeyWeWannaPartay #physiqueupdate #bodybuilding #trainingsplit
