If you ever decide to go hiking in Katmai National Park in Alaska, then keep a lookout for grizzly bears! Yep, these big brown bags of fat and fur are natives to the area, and you are sure to stumble onto one when hiking, or a mom and her cubs, like it happened to this guy.

When he was hiking in the park - alone, by the way - he came across a grizzly mom and her two cubs, right there on the trail! Naturally the man was afraid of the big brown beast and he knew that he should never turn his back on the group, so he turned on the camera on his phone and started walking backwards, making noises all the way.

The three bears can be seen following the man along the trails as he walks backwards towards his camp. The mom stops after a while, but the two curious cubs keep going. “Come on, guys, give me a break” says the man, winded from trying to keep a distance between himself and the local dwellers.

If you ever find yourself in a similar situation, there’s a few things you can do to stay safe and prevent any harm from happening to the bears. Each bear and encounter with one is unique, but here are a few things that you can bear in mind :) When off hiking, always go in groups, make sure you make plenty of noises like singing or clapping and, Of course, always be alert.

Happy hiking!
