1986 Pontiac Fiero project car. SE 4 cylinder 5 speed blown engine? 47000 original miles?

Finally bought a Fiero project car, the car in a whole is the best I saw for under $1000. I went into this project assuming the engine was blown, so I am wondering what the best engine swap would be for this car. Follow along as I attempt to get this thing on the road again.

forgot to mention on a Carfax it says it was stolen 7/3/89 and recovered 7/5/89
