🔥 Investigating the Lāhainā Wildfire: REP Joins the Team! 🔥

Honolulu, Hawaiʻi - Representative Dr. Elijah Pierick is thrilled to announce that he has joined the School Committee team as part of the six interim House working groups formed to address the Lāhainā Wildfire relief and recommend legislative actions for the 2024 Legislative Session.

“While we remain in mourning for the tragedy endured by Maui, we’re taking immediate action,” said House Speaker Scott K. Saiki. Our dedicated members will collaborate with experts, agencies, and the community to make impactful recommendations for the upcoming session, beginning January 17, 2024.

These bipartisan working groups will work closely with various agencies and stakeholders, aiming to deliver preliminary reports by November 1 and final reports by December 15. Together, we’ll address vital concerns like wildfire prevention, shelter, jobs, environmental remediation, and more to support Maui residents.

“The entire State will feel the effects of this tragic event for years to come,” added House Minority Leader Lauren Matsumoto. “We’re committed to finding a collaborative path forward.”
