Game Boy, Super Nintendo, and N64 Games In Our Local GAMESTOP?!?!?!

I know that Gamestop gets a bad rap quite often, and it is frequently deserved. I know the Gamestop in Champaign, IL went from amazing to "When are they going to close" in a very short time. I just recently started a new job in Bloomington, IL, about 50-minutes from Champaign, and while I had shopped there in the past it had been some time. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that there were Game Boy, Super Nintendo, and N64 Games In Our Local GAMESTOP! Let's take a closer look.

Now, Gamestop has had retro games available to order on their website for quite some time. I actually got my hands on a copy of Darkwing Duck several years ago for only $30, and boy was that a steal at the time. I wanted to see if this particular store had any Super Mario plushies as when I was at the Utah retro game swap that is what Ellie Jo wanted me to bring home, and unfortunately I did not see any. While looking around the store, I noticed a number of really neat things, and for the first time in a while at any GameStop I noticed that they had the kiosk set up with 3DS games. Again, it's been a while since I've seen this, but that wasn't as striking as what was at the bottom of the case.

For some time there has been word that GameStop has wanted to get back into retro gaming, getting cartridge based stuff, having the older systems represented in the stores again. Well, this store actually had that. The selection wasn't huge, but there was a Super Nintendo version of Super Empire Strikes back, Tetris for the Game Boy, a Game Boy advanced game, and an N64 game. Again, this isn't a huge selection but the fact that they had anything was really neat to see.

Have you seen any retro video games in your local GameStop in recent months? If so what was it? Share your experience down below as I'm hoping this is something that they will be expanding and rolling out in the near future.
