Chicken Manchurian with egg fried rice !!!!
Chicken Manchurian with Egg Fried Rice is a popular Indo-Chinese dish that combines the flavors of Chinese cuisine with Indian spices. It's a delicious and savory dish that consists of two main components: Chicken Manchurian and Egg Fried Rice. Here's how you can prepare both:
**Ingredients for Chicken Manchurian:**
For the Chicken Manchurian:
- 500 grams boneless chicken, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 1 egg
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Oil for frying
For the Manchurian Sauce:
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 bell pepper (capsicum), finely chopped
- 2-3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1-inch piece of ginger, minced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon tomato ketchup
- 1 tablespoon chili sauce (adjust to your spice preference)
- 1 teaspoon vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup chicken broth or water
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch mixed with 1/4 cup water to make a slurry
- Spring onions for garnish
**Ingredients for Egg Fried Rice:**
- 2 cups cooked and cooled rice (preferably a day old)
- 2 eggs, lightly beaten
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 bell pepper (capsicum), finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon vinegar
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Spring onions for garnish
**Instructions:**
**For Chicken Manchurian:**
1. In a bowl, mix the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, egg, salt, and pepper to make a thick batter.
2. Heat oil in a deep pan or wok for frying.
3. Dip the chicken pieces into the batter, ensuring they are well coated, and then deep fry them until they are golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
4. In another pan, heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil. Add garlic and ginger, and sauté for a minute.
5. Add chopped onions and bell peppers and stir-fry until they become slightly tender.
6. Add soy sauce, tomato ketchup, chili sauce, vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper. Stir well.
7. Pour in the chicken broth (or water) and bring the mixture to a boil.
8. Slowly add the cornstarch slurry while continuously stirring until the sauce thickens to your desired consistency.
9. Add the fried chicken pieces into the sauce and toss them until they are well coated.
10. Garnish with chopped spring onions.
**For Egg Fried Rice:**
1. Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a large pan or wok.
2. Add minced garlic and sauté for a minute until fragrant.
3. Add chopped onions and bell peppers and stir-fry until they become slightly tender.
4. Push the vegetables to one side of the pan and pour the beaten eggs into the other side. Scramble the eggs until they are fully cooked.
5. Add the cooked rice to the pan and stir-fry everything together.
6. Add soy sauce, vinegar, salt, and pepper. Stir well to combine all the ingredients evenly.
7. Garnish with chopped spring onions.
Serve the Chicken Manchurian alongside the Egg Fried Rice for a delicious Indo-Chinese meal. Enjoy!
