A Mercury transit occurs when the planet Mercury passes directly between the Earth and the Sun, appearing as a small, dark dot moving across the Sun's surface. These transits are relatively rare events and can only be observed with proper solar viewing equipment to protect your eyes. The last Mercury transit visible from Earth occurred on November 11, 2019, and the next one will be on November 13, 2032.
