First images show trapped US explorer on stretcher

Search teams on Monday (September 11) shared video footage from inside the deep Turkish cave in which American explorer Mark Dickey was trapped for days. The fresh images show the rescuers carrying Dickey, trussed up on a stretcher for his safety, as they made their tortuous way up and through tight rock tunnels, from more than 1,000 meters (3,300 ft) underground. One of the technical members of the rescue team, Giuseppe Conti, explained why the operation was particularly complex.
