Certainly, here are the top 10 notes about St. Pulcheria's life in chronological order:

1. St. Pulcheria (399-453) was the grand-daughter of Theodosius and was baptized by St. John Chrysostom in Constantinople.

2. At a very young age, St. Pulcheria made a vow of virginity along with her two younger sisters.

3. Six years after her father's death, she was proclaimed Augusta (empress) and named regent for her younger brother, Theodosius II, at the age of 15.

4. St. Pulcheria displayed exceptional prudence and maturity in her role as regent, a rare quality for someone her age.

5. When Theodosius married Athenais (later baptized as Eudoxia), daughter of a pagan philosopher, tensions arose, and Eudoxia sought to undermine St. Pulcheria's influence and favored the heresy of Nestorius.

6. St. Pulcheria supported St. Cyril of Alexandria against the heretic Nestorius. However, her stance led to her removal from power and withdrawal from the imperial court.

7. In 441, Eudoxia was exiled due to her infidelity to the Emperor, and St. Pulcheria returned to power.

8. St. Pulcheria persuaded Theodosius to withdraw his support for the heresy of the monk Eutyches and follow the teachings of St. Leo the Great.

9. After Theodosius' death in 450, St. Pulcheria was once again proclaimed Empress. She played a key role in the Council of Chalcedon (451), which condemned the heresy of Monophysism.

10. Facing the threat of Attila, St. Pulcheria agreed to marry General Marcian to maintain the stability of the Empire, on the condition that he respected her vow of virginity. Together, they governed the Empire, with Marcian taking measures against Nestorians and Eutychians and protecting the Catholic Bishops.

What should we ask of St. Pulcheria? We should ask her for the grace to understand and make understood with renewed ardor our role as laymen in temporal society following the plan of Divine Providence. That is, to serve God and Holy Mother Church living in the temporal order and transforming it into a true Christendom.

St. Pulcheria, pray for us!
