.303 is not powerful enough in game compared to IRL (IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles Series)

.303 in real life is a enormously powerful round. A full auto machine gun firing .303 is devastating, think punching holes in brick walls, cutting trees in half; now consider eight .303 machine guns at once. Consider 2500 rounds. With this kind of power airframes engines, systems and crew can be obliterated. Yet in game it doesnt happen much. Its frustrating to fight with rifle caliber guns in IL-2, from .50, to .303, to the mg in the russian planes, to the mc202 with its 12.7mm guns to the ww1 planes with their machine guns, none seem very damaging to airframes and engines. IRL they would shred everything in their path terribly.
Cannons are good, no change needed, they're accurately represented: but rifle caliber projectiles' damage model on airframes, systems, crew and engines aren't modeled or tested well enough.
The enormous energy these rounds carry to the target does serious damage IRL, but in game these rounds are very unattractive. No one wants to use them if cannons are available instead! Did the British empire and the USA get it wrong with their weaponry choices??? NO! These were appropriate solutions IRL. With .303 you could completely and utterly shred a target. And to give you a very small example from hundreds: Fire cannon at a bunker in multiplayer - say on Wings of Liberty: Cannon destroys bunnkers...Fire any ANY ANNNNNYYYYYYY rifle caliber round into a bunker, be it .303, 12.7, .50cal etc etc etc, spad balloon gun, whatever, - it does nothing to the bunker. Thats just one example. The rifle rounds are not damaging enough in-game compared to in real life.
