It seems to be that success has escaped so many because of what they deem to be successful, they're chasing after their ideas of success and as a result they end up not being successful at all. Many Christians are chasing after what you and I would call The American Dream you know the American dream of houses and lands and possessions and money in the bank and and boy that's the American dream. If I could just get out of my third world country and make it to America I could have money and new home, good job, that be the American dream that be success in the eyes of so many people, and friends I want you to know that that is not success in the eyes of the Lord.Show more

Sometimes you have preachers whose ideals of success are interesting, they feel their success, they would equate with popularity and they would say I'll be a successful preacher as long as I get to preach to large audiences and then now you can deem me a success and so their whole Ministry, and really everything that they have put their their work and effort into the success of it hinges on whether or not they get to speak to large crowds of people and to be able to preach the one big conference, now that is just another feather in the cap and now I'm successful.

I preached the large crowds, I preach big conferences I am officially successful and I say friend that is also the wrong idea of success it's not about the numbers that you preach for there's only one person that you preach for that's important and that's the Lord God Almighty and is he pleased that's it but you have preachers who got the wrong idea of success and by the way there's a lot of Christians who also view preachers in that same light and I think that's why many preachers follow after that because the people in the Pew feel like uh that that if this preacher preaches a large crowds he must be therefore successful and he'd be the one and so they kind of put that that taste in their mouth for for that that idea of success and and I'II remind you that there are some very very successful preachers but they'll only preach to 30 - 40 people every Sunday for the rest of their lives but in the eyes of God they're successful because they're obedient I've been there I've been able to preach the large crowds but friend I'll tell you one thing for sure that does not measure up to success whatsoever.

Obedience is the thermometer of which God measures success, oh many want to travel the world and see all the sights that she has to offer and to enjoy all the pleasures that this world has to offer and the God of Pleasure and the god of popularity and the god of possessions have really misguided so many people to the wrong idea of success they say if I can just get to this place in life I've worked hard I've made my way through, I've paid my dues I've got to this place now where I can finally put my feet up a little bit and now I guess this is what success must look like and I say that's also the wrong idea of success that may be a carnal idea of success that may be how the World Views success, but that's not what we as Believers ought to be interested in whatsoever is trying to be successful.

In the eyes of this world in the eyes of carnality no we want to be successful in the eyes of the Lord and the Bible is a great answer book that's why I love the Bible it's it's like having the answer key all the time and and we get to take an open book test everywhere we go if you just open the book you'll do pretty well and as you study the word of God you find out what is the answer to being successful you know look that work for me what is success how is that measured and I say well l'm glad you asked because the Bible is the answer book and the Bible gives it to us in verse number eight it says again the book of the law shall not depart out of my out of thy mouth for Thou shalt meditate therein day and night that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein for then Thou shalt make thy way prosperous and then Thou shalt have good success.
